This is an update for SacSewer employees that are eligible for representation by the Sacramento Area Sewer District Employees’ Association. You’re welcome to share this information. We close this week after having our first series of open meetings for SacSewer EA! We’re working through the feedback to add more negotiation items and to improve our outreach efforts. I appreciate all those who gave up their personal time to attend, and understand that many others were unable to come to due to their obligations. As a result, we will establish a YouTube channel to post videos of future meetings. These meetings also kicked off our membership drive. Membership is $45 per month, split between the first two paychecks of the month. The membership form is attached if you’re interested. Please fill it out and return it to a Representative or Board member: (Casey McCutcheon, Caitlin Gustafson-Mecham, Rory Busser, and Aaron Gonzalez). Membership will provide you with:

• Direct-access legal representation with Goyette, Ruano, & Thompson
• Free consultations on non-work-related legal issues with with Goyette, Ruano, & Thompson
• Assistance with work and contract issues
• Assistance with discipline and grievance issues
• Assistance with resolving payroll issues
• Contract negotiations on your behalf
• The ability to vote to accept or reject a proposed contract

For those that already submitted membership forms: Thank you! And thanks for letting me reiterate my commitment to you, and the benefits that membership brings. We are in the process of updating our email list to the personal emails provided. Finally, you might notice a shift between SacSewer EA and SASDEA. Much like our employer uses the branding “SacSewer” but legally is the Sacramento Area Sewer District (or SASD), we were required to legally name our association the Sacramento Area Sewer District Employees’ Association, or SASDEA.
